Some tips for teaching art to kids in a classroom

The first thing you can do is stop them from using erasers and pencils. It may sound harsh. However, it can be effective in this particular context. The thing with erasers and pencils is that they encourage small drawings. While using these, if the kids make a mistake, they would erase anything wrong and start something new. This way, they could waste a lot of time before creating something new. However, if the same kids use oil pastels, they would have to work quickly, commit to their ideas, and look past their supposed mistakes.

If organizing art & craft workshopsyou should always ask your students to mix their paints on paper rather than on paint palettes. If you provide a palette to a child, they spend plenty of hours finding the color that appears to be perfect to them. It is fine when you have all the time in the world. However, when in a competitive environment like that of a classroom, then time is a luxury. It is where letting them mix color on paper can be as effective as it can produce some cool results.

It is better not to allow kids to use art aprons and smocks as kids can waste a lot of time in trying to get them on, organize them, and store them, to name a few. All these things take time. It could take as much as 5 to 7 minutes. However, in a 30-minute class, this means a lot of time gets wasted for nothing. All you have to do is let them settle as soon as possible and start creating, doing the fun stuff if you want to put it that way. In any case, there are plenty of detergents in the market that can wipe away most stains out there.
